What AFIA membership means for your client conversations.

You need funding information that can be explained and assessed with a client. Our AFIA Code accreditation provides a clear reference for the information and support behind that conversation.

The AFIA Code applies to Australian consumer and small-business customers and products within its scope.

A public commitment to clear standards.

Clearmatch is an AFIA member and is accredited to the Finance Industry Code of Practice and Schedule 5 — Insurance Premium Funding. Our member profile and the full Code are available on AFIA’s website.

The current Code is effective from 1 October 2026. Its scope covers relevant Australian consumer and small-business finance; it should not be treated as covering every corporate funding arrangement, New Zealand funding or the Term Note investment offering.

Put the full funding commitment in view.

Schedule 5 calls for key information about the term, loan amount, Total Cost of Credit, Total Repayment Amount, APR and average monthly repayment, together with security and default information. It also addresses fees, charges and intermediary remuneration.

The APR is an annual rate calculated on the reducing loan balance and excludes fees. It is one comparison measure. Help the client consider it alongside the separate cost and repayment disclosures, payment dates and agreement terms.

Support when circumstances change.

The Code includes commitments to fair and honest dealings, clear information and trained representatives. It also addresses support for customers experiencing financial difficulty or vulnerability.

If a client raises a repayment concern, help them find the appropriate support channel early. Existing customers can contact Clearmatch directly for hardship assistance or complaints; new funding discussions remain with their insurance or finance broker.

Independent monitoring and a clear complaints route.

The independent Finance Industry Code Compliance Committee monitors Code compliance and can consider alleged breaches. It does not resolve individual product complaints or disputes.

A customer should first raise a product concern through Clearmatch’s complaints process. The published complaints information explains the available external escalation routes for Australia and New Zealand.

Keep the quote and agreement central.

The Code helps frame the conversation; the client’s specific quote and signed agreement set out the funding arrangement. Ask our broker team when a disclosure, condition or next step needs explanation.
